Dr
Hendrik Hofmeyr (Associate
Professor and Concert
Organizer, UCT)
With more than 80
commissions to his credit, Hendrik Hofmeyr is one of South Africa’s
most sought-after composers. He has won a number of competitions,
including the S.A. Opera Competition, the Queen Elisabeth (Belgium)
and the Dimitri Mitropoulos (Greece). Hofmeyr, who was honoured
with a Kanna Award by the Kleinkaroo National Arts Festival in
2008, is currently professor at the University of Cape Town, from
which he received a Doctorate in 1999. |

Lia Labuschagne (Extra
Hands Publicity and Communications)
Lia Labuschagne is a Cape Town-based freelance
writer, editor and communication consultant. Among others she works
with clients in the fields of music, science, engineering, environmental
issues, art and business development and also with NGOs. Her experience
includes positions in senior management at major organisations nationally
and internationally. |

Anton Els (Music Maestros Manager)
After obtaining his MMus (Composition)
at the University of Cape Town, Anton Els, taught music at Paul Roos
Gymnasiun in Stellenbosch for ten years. During this time he received
the Oude Meester Prize for Composition and a merit award from SAMRO
which enabled him to continue his studies in Europe. In 1996 he settled
in Cape Town to start a music agency. Since then he has facilitated
national concert tours for more than 40 international musicians.
He acts as consultant for the classical music concerts at the prestigeous
La Motte Wine Estate, and has been production manager for all the
groundbreaking opera productions by the Richard Wagner Society of
South Africa. |
